Construction of a new two story steel framed building which is an addition to the North Energy Plant for the installation of one 3,000 ton chiller, cooling tower, pumps and the installation of chilled water distribution piping. An extensive underground piping installation, as part of USC’s expansion of the chilled water distribution loop, was included in this project. The underground piping included a large, horizontal, directional bore under Assembly Street in downtown Columbia.
