Journeyman Welder / Pipefitter

In the Journeyman Pipefitter/Welder role you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing and maintaining piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, industrial processing systems, heating and cooling.

Work Activities

  • Select type and size of pipe and materials according to engineered drawings and specifications.
  • Install pipe hangers and supports.
  • Test pipe installation, bend pipe and install valves.
  • Perform layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittings.
  • Assemble various fittings, threaded joints and welded joints.
  • Additional work may be required to complete the tasks required on the job site.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 4 years of experience as a Pipefitter/Pipe Welder.
  • Ability to perform craft related math functions.
  • Knowledge of building plans and working drawings.
  • Working knowledge of safety protocol on construction jobsites. (Will complete a company safety orientation).
  • Must be physically capable of performing job duties. Endurance required for large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
  • May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements at times. May be asked to work long hours at times.
  • Currently or able to acquire Welding Certification.

  • Must have ability to work with others and be a team player.
  • Must be able to comply with company’s Drug Free Workplace policy.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
